Directees

Every person you meet with — a directee, a supervisee, a student — lives in Directee as a Person record under People. Each profile is the hub for that relationship: appointments, notes, documents, and milestones all collect there, and only active people count toward your plan.

Add a person

A person record needs only a name and email to start. Everything else — photo, phone, type, billing — can be filled in now or later.

  1. In the left navigation, open People → People.
  2. Click New Person.
  3. Enter First Name and Email Address — both are required. Last Name and Telephone Number are optional.
  4. Optionally upload a Photo, set a Type, and configure Billing Settings (Default Service, or a Monthly Retainer with start and end dates).
  5. Save.

New people are Active by default. If you’re at your plan’s directee limit, leave a record inactive until you’re ready to bring them on.

The profile page

Opening a person takes you to their profile: a quick-links panel with photo, email, phone, and type, plus a Billing panel when a default service or monthly rate is set.

Below that, tabs hold everything tied to this person — Appointments, Notes, Payments, Milestones, Tasks, and Documents. Each tab is its own table with its own Create button, so you can log a session, add a note, upload a document, or mark a milestone without leaving the profile.

Quick actions from the People list

You don’t have to open a profile to act on it. From the People table, the action menu next to each row offers View, Edit, Add Note, Add Appointment, Create Invoice, and Delete.

Add Note opens a slide-over for a quick note without leaving the list. Add Appointment and Create Invoice take you to the appointment or invoice form with this person already selected.

Categorize by type

The Type field on a person’s profile classifies the relationship — Directee, Supervisee, Student, or any category you define. Type shows as a badge in the People table and can be filtered from the Type filter above it.

  1. On the profile form, open the Type dropdown in Profile Details.
  2. Choose an existing type, or type a new name and save it on the spot.

Categorizing consistently makes the Type filter and the "Set Type" bulk action useful when your list grows.

Active, inactive, and bulk actions

Only Active people count against your plan’s directee limit. Deactivating someone doesn’t delete anything — their appointments, notes, documents, and milestones all stay put, and you can reactivate them anytime.

The Status filter above the People table lets you view Active Only, Inactive Only, or All People. Select multiple rows with the checkboxes to reveal bulk actions: Set Type, Mark as Active, Mark as Inactive, Set Default Service, and Delete.

  1. Check the boxes next to the people you want to update.
  2. Open the bulk actions menu above the table.
  3. Choose Mark as Inactive to free up a plan slot, or Mark as Active to bring someone back.

If a Mark as Active bulk action would put you over your plan’s active-directee limit, Directee blocks it and tells you how many slots you have — nothing is left half-updated.
